So what is a pigtail on a heated hose?  That is what we call the additional heat trace element that extends 12 inches beyond the end of the hose.  Why, to help protect connection points.  We can also place a pigtail at the plug end which allows another 12 inches of heat trace.  Or we can do both.

WARNING:  THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE AND PROPER RESPECT AND HANDLING IS VITAL.  NEVER ATTEMPT TO CUT, SLICE OR DISASSEMBLE HOSE.  THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE AND SERIOUS INJURY, OR DEATH, MAY RESULT.

Common questions about our hoses

Our electrically heated hose assembly method utilizes a 110 VAC UL rated waterproof heated circuit. The circuit is spirally wrapped around a 3/4" heavy duty, drinking water approved hose which is thermally insulated.

It makes no difference.  All of our hoses have male fittings on each end.  Female fitting with washers tend to leak, wear out or break.  Instead, we provide a female-to-female with each hose allowing you the needed flexibility and assured durability of our hose since the female fitting is the likeliest spot for breaking.

Sensible Solution

The pigtail makes the connection between the hose and the supply winter-proof. For the last few winters I have wrapped the water supply 'feed' pipe with heat tape and it's always been a bit of a struggle to make sure that the tap or the valve don't freeze. The pigtail makes it easy. Wrap the 'feed' then use the pigtail to make sure the tap/valve doesn't freeze. Excellent solution.

Hoses

The quality is above and beyond. I am so glad I made the leap. I wont ever need another set of hoses again. I added up the money I have spent in hoses since 2008 and was surprised at how much I am now saving. Thankyou for great products
