Common questions about our hoses

Our electrically heated hose assembly method utilizes a 110 VAC UL rated waterproof heated circuit. The circuit is spirally wrapped around a 3/4" heavy duty, drinking water approved hose which is thermally insulated.

It makes no difference.  All of our hoses have male fittings on each end.  Female fitting with washers tend to leak, wear out or break.  Instead, we provide a female-to-female with each hose allowing you the needed flexibility and assured durability of our hose since the female fitting is the likeliest spot for breaking.

No. There is no need to monitor the hose as the self-limiting heater is pre-programmed to operate only when needed.

No. Once plugged in, there is no point in which you must turn the unit off.

No. Because the core material continuously varies its heat output all along the pipe as temperatures change, there is no need for a thermostat.

Yes. The 1996 National Electric Code (NEC) requires ground fault protection for each branch circuit supplying electrical heating equipment.

No.

Based on a 25-foot hose, roughly 2.5 kWh of electricity, or about 25¢ a day.

DO NOT alter the hose in any manner.

No. DO NOT attempt to transfer fluids other then it's specified use.  We are happy to build you a custom hose if you have a need.

Quality still matters to this company

I’ve used mine up in the mountains of New Mexico throughout a few winters now. As a full time RV’er since 2016 it’s been the only hose I trust. Before purchasing this one I tried a few other brands and none of them survived multiple winters and in most cases they would fail at the worst times in the first season (12* F lowest temperature I’ve seen). I have only two complaints. They only sell it in black which is a problem when one is for fresh and the other for macerated septic, I had to spray paint mine and that hasn’t worked very well. The other complaint is that the outer mesh sleeve collects mud and debris which is a pain to clean in the Spring. Overall if your traveling or staying in a cold climate this hose is worth the investment provided you have the storage space.

Better than any other

I tried to go cheap before with hoses that promised to work at negative temps but failed before reaching zero degrees. The nofreeze hose has already proven itself in negative temps down to -10 so far. Will have to wait until next winter for even colder temps but looks promising.
